It looks like Jay-Z couldn’t catch a “yellow cab,” “gypsy cab,” or “dollar cab” last night and had to take a subway train to Brooklyn.

The rapper was mobbed by fans en route to the Barclays Center from Chinatown. He was flanked by several bodyguards throughout the trip amidst chants of “Brooklyn,” inquires of “what are you doing here?” and camera phone flashes from fans. Once on the R train, Beyonce’s hubby struck up a conversation with a passenger.

Jay-Z was clearly in a Brooklyn state of mind all week: He played eight sold-out shows at the newly opened Barclays Center and was joined on stage by his wife late last night. He will release an EP of selected songs from the Brooklyn shows tomorrow.
