Ang Lee’s Life of Pi arrives this Friday for the select few attending the New York Film Festival. Based on Yann Martel’s “unfilmable” 2001 novel about an Indian boy who shares a lifeboat with some wild animals — including a Bengal tiger — after his ship sinks on its way to Canada, the 3-D movie features some stirring cinematic imagery.

The new clip recycles many of the amazing sequences from the initial trailer — chaotic ship sinking, vicious tiger, cresting whale — but here, it is wrapped in the narration of grown-up Pi (Slumdog Millionaire‘s Irrfan Khan) and a tune from Coldplay.

Life of Pi opens in theaters on Nov. 21.
