For the first time, somebody other than Survivor‘s Jeff Probst has won the Emmy for best reality show host.

With Probst not nominated this year, Dancing With the Stars’ Tom Bergeron took home the award. The win comes four years after the category was created and seven years since Bergeron and Dancing launched on ABC. Bergeron faced off against fellow primetime reality show veterans Phil Keoghan (The Amazing Race), Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance), as well as newcomer (in this category at least) Betty White (Betty White’s Off Their Rockers).

“This is particularly satisfying because Betty White always kicks my ass in our mixed-martial arts class,” Bergeron told viewers from the Nokia stage. “I want to thank Jeff Probst — for not being nominated.”
