Please do not adjust your computer screen. A blonde emblem of daytime TV has gone gray — for one day only. Today, Katie Couric’s talk show is about hair in all its forms: long, short, natural, colored, wigs, extensions, and everything in between.

Couric will kick off the hour by showing a segment in which she walks the streets of New York City in a gray wig, asking passersby what they think about her “new look.” If you ask us, she’s totally pulling it off.

After her grand gray experiment, Katie speaks with hair and beauty experts including Allure editor-in-chief Linda Wells and fellow talk show host Wendy Williams, who brought her vast wig collection along for the ride. (“They’re part of me,” the TV personality explains.) Here’s a picture of Couric, Williams, and three very well-coiffed mannequins:

Katie airs in syndication today; check local listings or to find out when you can watch.
