For every kid who ever wanted to be a ninja, fighting evil and injustice with nunchucks and stealth, Disney XD is giving viewers the chance to experience that vicariously through new animated character Randy Cunningham.

In Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, which kicks off this week, the title character is given the duty of town ninja, which has been passed on from teenager to teenager for 800 years. Randy finds that he is the one thing protecting his town of Norrisville from an evil sorcerer (voiced by Tim Curry) and a slew of monsters and madmen.

EW has an exclusive clip from the show, featuring Will & Grace alum Megan Mullally voicing sweet but batty science teacher Mrs. Driscoll. The scene will appear in the Sept. 25 episode “Monster Dump,” when Randy is forced to put on his ninja suit and rescue his classmates when a school field trip to a volcano goes awry. Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja debuts tonight on Disney XD, with new episodes airing Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m.

And for anyone worried that the other side of a battle as old as time itself isn’t getting its Disney airtime — have no fear: Disney Channel’s Jake and the Neverland Pirates is back this week for a special episode called “Jake Saves Bucky,” set to air on Wednesday. And yes, it really will be pirates vs. ninjas: Both will air at 7 p.m.
