Don Mischer will direct the 85th annual Academy Awards telecast in February for his third consecutive year in a row, announced the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the awards show’s producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, on Thursday.

Don Mischer Productions also produces the Oscars red carpet pre-show and Governors Awards.

“I am so very excited to be directing the Academy Awards again this year and to be working with creative producers like Craig and Neil,” said Mischer in a statement.

Mischer, who has also produced Super Bowl half-time shows and opening ceremonies for the Olympics, as well as TV specials for musicians such as Bruce Springsteen and Beyonce, was nominated for Emmys for directing the last two Oscar telecasts.

The Academy Awards air live on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
