A director making controversial remarks at a film festival? Who would believe it?

This time around, the director is Nick Cassavetes (Alpha Dog, The Notebook) and the film is Yellow, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this past weekend. The movie stars Heather Wahlquist, Cassavetes’ ex-wife, as a woman who, after losing her job in L.A., moves back home to Oklahoma to try and figure out her next step. Along the way, her next step includes visiting her brother in prison and having a love affair with him, according to The Wrap.

In an interview with The Wrap, Cassavetes defended the incest plot, saying,

Yellow does not yet have a U.S. distributor.
