How do you follow up the monster success of “Call Me Maybe”? Hopefully with a “Kiss.”

On Monday, Carly Rae Jepsen released her first solo single since “Maybe” debuted in the States on February 22. “This Kiss” is the next single off the 26-year-old’s new album Kiss, which will be released on Sept. 18. Check it out below:

The song has a cute backstory — reportedly, Jepsen wrote it with her rumored now-boyfriend Matthew Koma.

The song has a fun, fizzy dance beat and grows on repeated listens, but honestly, it’s hard to imagine it matching the phenomenon of “Call Me Maybe.” To date, “Maybe” has sold 9.1 million singles worldwide, and spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 — the longest run this year.

Will “This Kiss” inspire viral tributes from presidents and Olympic champions? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
