Did Pink outdo herself with this year's VMA performance
This year’s MTV VMAs brought us something special that, like a shooting star, people only get to see a handful of times in their life: a Pink awards-show performance.
We’ve seen Alecia Moore get into all sorts of onstage high jinks before, so she had a lot to live up to. Who could forget, for instance, her showing at the 2010 American Music Awards, where she ran through “Raise Your Glass” with a baby on board? Or when she defied Issac Newton with a gravity-spiting performance of “Glitter in the Air” at that same year’s Grammy ceremony? Nobody, that’s who.
So, how did her VMAs performance stack up against some of her best hits? Pretty well! Decked in suspenders, black shorts, and a badass pompodour, Pink brought back the flying act with some fine Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark acrobatics for “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, but she also added in an extra ingredient: sets of luscious, Rocky Horror Picture Show-style lips with dancing Rockettes legs.
