Lady Gaga's famous meat dress, the provocative gown she wore to MTV's 2010 Video Music Awards, will be showcased at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, beginning tomorrow. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is bringing its Women Who Rock display — which debuted in Cleveland last year — to the nation's capital, highlighting 70 pioneer and trailblazing female artists, including Billie Holiday, Wanda Jackson, and Loretta Lynn. According to the Associated Press, the meat dress will be accompanied by an explanation of Gaga's political message.

In September 2010, she told Ellen DeGeneres, "It has many interpretations — but for me, this evening, it's that if we don't stand up for what we believe in, if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're gonna have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And I am not a piece of meat."
