Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Kerry Washington to speak at the DNC
Yes, but will they argue with furniture?
The Democratic National Convention’s Thursday schedule is still top-secret — but according to CNN, Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson, Oscar winner Natalie Portman, and EWwy favorite Kerry Washington will address the floor together. The news network also says that the actresses will follow a performance by The Foo Fighters. Political conventions: sounding more and more like the VMAs every day!
Each member of the trio has been a vocal supporter of Obama since 2008. Portman recently spoke in favor of the president at the Nevada Women Vote 2012 Summit in Las Vegas. Her Other Boleyn Girl costar Johansson held a fashion-themed Obama fundraiser with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour in February. And Washington wrote an impassioned opinion piece about the election for News One this summer, urging supporters to volunteer for Obama’s campaign. Her character on Scandal also has a very, er, special relationship with the show’s fictional president.
So, what will these stars speak about when they storm the stage Thursday? Your guess is as good as ours — though we can bet on at least one Eastwood joke.
