Betty White to speak at Democratic National Convention?
From Cleveland to Charlotte?
A petition on Change.org has over 7,000 signatures urging Betty White to introduce the President Obama before his own remarks Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention.
“Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!” the petition reads.
In addition, the Facebook group “Bring Betty White to the DNC” has over 28,000 people hoping that White will make Democrats’ — and fans’ — day. The 90-year-old White endorsed Obama for re-election in May.
While it seems like a long shot at best (EW reached out to her rep, but hasn’t heard back), petitions and Betty White have been a great idea before. Without fans demanding more White, this — along with the rest of her Saturday Night Live appearance — never would have happened.
