Kim Kardashian wants a Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Grace Kelly. Nicole Kidman. Kim Kardashian? While the reality star isn't likely to snag a Best Actress statuette anytime soon, someday she might have something else in common with those ladies: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At least, if Kim gets her way.

"I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," Kanye West's current flame told V Magazine in a voice that, according to writer Patrik Sandberg, sounds like "that of a Disney princess… or a phone-sex operator." Kardashian kontinued, "So, of course I'm so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold."

It's not entirely true that there are no reality stars on the Walk of Fame; both Paula Abdul and Ryan Seacrest have plaques.  But neither was recognized for their work on American Idol; instead, Abdul got a star in the "recording" category, while Seacrest's is for his work in radio. As the Walk of Fame's vice president for media relations told EW last year, "Reality stars are not on our radar for Walk of Fame honors… [but] what our Walk of Fame-rs do after they are honored with stars is totally up to them." That means a star recipient can go on to do reality — but a reality star won't get recognized simply for appearing on a reality show.

Kardashian, to her credit, is trying to find scripted screen work — she's set to appear as a coworker of the title character in Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor. (And yes, she knows what joke you're about to make: "In real life, I'm definitely not a marriage counselor. I shouldn't be giving marriage advice to anyone! It was pretty ironic, especially at the time that I was filming it, but it was therapeutic," she told V.) Still, it'll take a long time for Hollywood to see her as a true celebrity with true talent — if that day ever comes at all.
