When Strike Back returns for season 2 this Friday night, the game has changed. Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) is no longer with the elite Section 20 team; he’s busy training recruits back in the U.K. so he can be close to his wife. Meanwhile, Stone (Sullivan Stapleton) is on a routine assignment in Kenya, serving as a body-man for a pair of British intelligence officers meeting with a Libyan asset. Of course, things do not go as planned, and Stone fails his mission. Check out the scene where all hell breaks loose — beware gorgeous fruit ladies packing machine guns! — and then watch an exclusive clip as Stone accepts a suicide mission to make things right.

There’s even more international explosive action planned for season 2’s other nine episodes. Here’s the trailer, with clues of what’s in store.

Strike Back was barely a blip on the ratings radar during its first season on Cinemax, but the show’s pulling out all the stops to raise its profile. HBO’s been running highly visible promos and the show persuaded Bob Dylan to lend it some of his new tunes. Season 2 premieres tomorrow night at 10 p.m. on Cinemax.
