Could a Jonas brother become a judge on American Idol? According to Nick Jonas, it’s a distinct possibility — and one that he’s very excited about. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter/actor tweeted on Saturday: “The rumors are true… I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol” He continued to promote that hashtag, later tweeting: “Loved seeing all your amazing response to #nickonidol keep it coming!”

Jonas, who starred earlier this year in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Pharrell are two of the names that have been rumored to fill the empty seats at the table left behind by Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. (Snoop Dogg Lion seems to have expressed interest as well.)

Late last month, Mariah Carey inked a one-year deal to serve as a judge for season 12. There is still no official word on whether the singing competition’s lone original judge, Randy Jackson, will return this year.

Fox declined to comment.
