Oh, Neil Gaiman, you can be such a tease.

The Coraline and American Gods author has been hinting to his Twitter followers today that he would soon announce the title to his upcoming novel. Then he nearly made his fans wait until the following morning. But he still followed through. And the title is… (EW can be a tease too)…

The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

Let the speculation of just what fantastical oddities we’ll find at this ocean begin.

William Morrow Books followed up with a tweet of their own, noting that the adult-skewing novel is set for Summer 2013.

That will be a big year for the British author. His first picture book “for really little kids,” Chu’s Day, will arrive Jan. 8, part of a five-book deal with HarperCollins. He’s also set to release the eagerly anticipated prequel mini-series to his beloved comic book series The Sandman, the last of which was published in 1996.
