Johnny Depp on the set of 'The Lone Ranger' -- VIDEO
You can’t say that Johnny Depp doesn’t go all out for his roles.
A short clip has surfaced from the set of Disney’s The Lone Ranger that shows Depp — in full Tonto make-up — talking to Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly. While the audio quality isn’t great, you can hear Depp attempt to speak Navajo while caked in face paint.
As EW reported Comic-Con was treated to the teaser trailer for The Lone Ranger, which features Depp in full on ‘dead bird’ regalia as seen in the first promotional image, inspired by Kirby Sattler’s painting ‘I Am Crow’.
The film also stars The Social Network’s Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, with a supporting cast including Tom Wilkinson, Helena Bonham Carter, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale and Ruth Wilson.
The Lone Ranger will be the second foray into the western genre for director Gore Verbinksi and Johnny Depp, after the pair worked together on the Oscar-winning animated movie Rango.
