MTV bringing back 'House of Style'
Hold on to your fashion hats: MTV has announced the return of its iconic fashion series House of Style.
The show, which last aired on the network back in 2009, will make its big return Oct. 9.
Additionally, a host for the program will be revealed Sept. 6, the night of the MTV Video Music Awards. MTV is currently taking a look at a “short-list” of candidates, according to Sophia Rai, vice president of digital production at MTV. Considering their impressive roster of former hosts (Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn, to name a few), Rai said the new female — or male! — that ends up with the job will definitely fit the bill. “We’re really excited about being able to make this decision, and we want to make sure the audience is just as excited about it as we are. There’s a lot of thinking that’s going into figuring this role out, when this announcement will be, and who the type of person is who we want to be the face of [the show],” she said.
Leading up to the show’s return, viewers new and old can take a peek at highlights from House of Style‘s past at MTV Style. “It was really important for us to get this material out and share it with everyone, and then get to move the conversation to what a new version of the show can be,” Rai says.
Many of the highlights will also be featured in a documentary, House of Style: Music, Models and MTV, airing Aug. 7.
