'Vampire Diaries' scoop: Meet the Mystic Falls new girl
- TV Show
There’s a new girl coming to Mystic Falls.
Nine Lives of Chloe King actress Grace Phipps has landed the recurring role of 16-year-old April, described as “a natural beauty with a bit of an edge.” April has just returned from private school after the death of her father. She has some history with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Elena hopes to protect her from the many secrets the town holds. April will make her first appearance in the second episode next season. I wonder if she has any connection to the big bad vampire hunter that’s coming this season?
Phipps has some vampire experience — she was in the recent big-screen remake of Fright Night. While doing press for the film she expressed her love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but knocked the Twilight saga (“I like my monsters to be monsters,” she said). The CW’s top-rated Vampire Diaries returns Oct. 11.
Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and Paul Wesley star in the CW’s romance-infused vampire soap opera.
