The words Mauvais Dentes might not mean much to you now, but they will when Grimm returns for its second season.

The vicious saber-toothed creature, which you see below in an exclusive first look, makes its debut on the show’s premiere, airing Aug. 13.

According to executive producer David Greenwalt, the beast is one of Nick’s greatest foes yet. “He’s the worst thing that’s ever come; he can kill a whole village,” he says. “And he acts like a cat, so he likes to rope you in and play with you a little bit and observe you. He’ll never be predictable.”

And much of the season will deal with the unpredictability of Nick’s life as of late, especially as monsters continue to learn about him, fellow EP Jim Kouf adds. “It’s more focused on Nick now,” he says. “Before, it was catch what [monsters] came across his desk. These are more directed toward him.” Adds Greenwalt: “There are forces at play who would like to see Nick proven to be an uber-Grimm — or dead.”
