Mad Men‘s John Slattery on the LSD trip that rocked Roger Sterling’s world

”It was very specific in the script. We had to reshoot the 1919 World Series scene — [exec producer] Matt [Weiner] wanted me to be giddier. And he didn’t like the wallpaper. He didn’t want it to be stoney, it had to be lucid. But it wasn’t like I had to conjure up a state of mind. It was all right there in the script.”

Happy Endings‘ Casey Wilson on sing-fighting with Penny’s mom (Megan Mullally)

”Originally, Megan and I thought it would be funny to sing in wildly different styles. She wanted to sing like a gospel singer, and I was like a Broadway belter. It was midnight on a Tuesday, and we were delirious. But then the creators came out and said, ‘Let’s just see if we can try to play it real.’ Once we did that, it was funnier to me to play it as a very impassioned, serious sing-fight.”

Parks and Recreation‘s Nick Offerman on shaving his mustache during season 4

”There was a real sense of having shorn Samson of his locks. And it really felt sacrilegious. That was by far the hardest, strangest thing I’ve had to do as Ron Swanson. To have him be clean-shaven, wearing an Easter shirt, and turned into a little boy was so bizarre and foreign. And it was so hard to speak dialogue as Ron Swanson without a big mustache. Certain consonants didn’t feel right without a huge bristle brush impeding their exit from my mouth.”

Creator and star Tina Fey on getting ready to say goodbye to 30 Rock and everyone’s favorite TGS producer, Liz Lemon

”I think the last 13 [episodes] will be about her road, potentially, to motherhood. I don’t think we’ll be bringing in the 21st-century Webster. Hopefully all of our staff will be working together to bring whatever kind of truthfulness we all can share about that process and someone entering that process at that age and what that feels like — and keep it kind of 30 Rock weird but also ground it in some kind of reality of what her situation will be like. And other ‘bucket list’ things — I always wanted to do a full-tilt Bugsy Malone episode. But I don’t think we’ll get to that in the final 13.”

Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan on the finale shocker that Gloria is pregnant

”It dawned on us that Cam and Mitchell already went through having a baby, so maybe it would feel repetitive. Maybe it would be nice to give it to someone else. Whose lives would it screw up the most? With Jay and Gloria, we really like what it will do to that household. We didn’t want anybody to know, so we cleared the set. It wasn’t in the script. We only told two people at the studio and one at ABC. We swore them to secrecy.”
