Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander will come back for more crime-solving fun next year. TNT announced today that it has ordered a fourth season of Rizzoli & Isles, which stars Harmon as a Boston police detetive and Alexander as a medical examiner.

The new season that will bow sometime in 2013 will feature 15 episodes. The show is based on the best-selling crime novels by Tess Gerritsen.

“Anchoring a new night in its third season, Rizzoli & Isles has proven itself to be a strong and enduring hit, not only in terms of the great storylines and performances, but also in terms of the show’s stellar ratings,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies, in a statement. “We’re thrilled that Rizzoli & Isles will continue to be a vital part of the TNT lineup.”

After premiering in 2010, Rizzoli & Isles went on to average a record 8.8 million viewers in its first season and more than 8.4 million in its second. Moving to a new night this summer, the show has averaged 7.1 million viewers.
