There are dozens of talk shows. How is Bethenny different?

I never watch other talk shows. But this is the conversation that women have with other women when men aren’t around.

People either love you or they hate you. Discuss.

Some people are bothered by the enormity of my success in what they perceive to be a short period of time. People love me because I’m being honest and it’s no-holds-barred.

How many times have you done your own workout DVDs?

The first one I’ve done probably 10 times, the second one probably six times. I like the first one less because I talk a lot on that one and I don’t like hearing my own voice.

Any thoughts on the current season of The Real Housewives of New York City?

I actually helped cast the new Housewife Aviva [Drescher]. She was passed over the first time. I called Andy Cohen and said, ”Why did you pass on that woman? She has one leg and her ex-husband has slept with two of the Housewives. If that’s not reason enough to put her on the show, I don’t know what is.”

Are you worried about raising your daughter, Bryn, in the public eye?

I do have concerns. [When I first] came to L.A., I was attacked by paparazzi, but there are ways to get around that. You’re actually more hidden here because in Manhattan you’re just walking down the street.
