Terrence Malick has directed gorgeous, haunting films — including The Tree of Life and The New World — with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, and he has done it without being photographed once by the media. TMZ’s video crew, however, has inadvertantly filmed him leaving a restaurant with actor Benicio Del Toro. The cameraman was keen on Del Toro’s thoughts about Cuba eventually becoming the 51st state and didn’t immediately recognize the real prize in his frame. Watch as Malick tries to slip away despite Del Toro’s inconvenient positioning. (I love the Traffic star’s chuckle, hinting that he at least appreciated the significance of the moment.)
