Ratings: ABC on top with NBA Finals
Hockey may be no match for Gordon Ramsay but basketball is: ABC was No. 1 on Tuesday because of its telecast of game one of the NBA Finals. The Heat vs. Thunder game earned a 5.6 rating/15 share, up 2% from last year’s game one, according to early results. More than 13 million viewers caught the big game.
Fox, which aired a two-block of Hell’s Kitchen and Masterchef, earned a 2.1/7 in the demo. (The shows averaged 5.2 million and 4.8 million, respectively). It was tied for second in the key demo with NBC, which aired American Ninja Warriors. The competition show averaged a 1.6/5 and 4.9 million viewers — down 27% from its Monday telecast last week and its lowest rating to date. That was followed by America’s Got Talent, which dropped 14% from last week to a 3.0/8 and 10.8 million eyeballs. Love in the Wild at 10 earned a 1.6/4 and 5 million viewers.
CBS aired repeats.
Naturally, ABC was also the most-watched net for the night with just over 11 million.
