The quest to find the official song of the summer comes around again every year, and every year there are plenty of noble candidates. But every one of them still has to go toe-to-toe with one of the most indisputable summer jams of all time: DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince’s “Summertime.”

In fact, before we move on, let’s go ahead and bask in its greatness, shall we? Pour the lemonade and watch the video below.

Ahhhhh, that was refreshing.

The erstwhile Fresh Prince has been focused less on music and more on thwarting alien invasions as of late, but Will Smith did stop by his old friend Jazzy’s Jeff’s microphone to bust out a fresh version of a “Summertime” verse on the new mixtape Summertime III.

Put together by Jeff and fellow DJ Mick Boogie, Summertime III opens with Smith’s deep-voiced nod to his legendary song, then mixes together a continuous hour of warm-weather tracks ideal for sun bathing and Alpine blasting.

Get the whole tape as a free download here, and let Michael Jackson, Sugar Ray, Positive K, Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Notorious B.I.G., and a host of others help you forget that it’s Monday.
