After catching flack for riffing on the “gay” aspects of cricket during The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson last week, actor Jason Alexander sent out a lengthy apology via his Twitter account this weekend.

“I now get it,” the former Seinfeld star wrote after admitting that he didn’t initially see the harm in the remarks, which included calling the cricket style of pitching “queer.” Alexander also conceded that he “should know better.” Continued the actor: “So, I can only apologize and I do. In comedy, timing is everything.”
