Istanbul Passage

Leon Bauer is an American tobacco exec in 1945 Istanbul during the first shivers of the Cold War. He’s recruited by a local CIA operative for a supposedly routine assignment: the pickup of a Romanian military official wanted by both the U.S. and the Russians (not to mention the Turkish secret service). The mission goes seriously awry, and soon bodies are piling up like layers of baklava. The plot in Istanbul Passage may be overly complicated and the ending feels a bit rushed, but Kanon delivers a satisfying atmospheric thriller. B
