The new four-minute trailer for this July’s The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t add much plotwise to the earlier previews of the reboot. It does, however, feature a much longer look at the film’s slam-bang action sequences, including Spidey rescuing an adorable child from a burning automobile dangling over the East River, which is what we in the business refer to as the “McTiernan Hat Trick.”

No further indication about the nature of the mysterious man who seems to be pulling the Lizard’s strings — although am I crazy, or does he sound a little bit like Willem “Great Villain Except For The Costume” Defoe? Check out the trailer and ponder the sad citizens of Movie New York, a city which is basically getting torn to pieces in every major movie this summer.
