'Survivor One World': Jeff Probst breaks down the finale

Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: One World.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Kim really dominated in all three facets of the game — social, strategic, and physical. Where does she stack up when compared to other people that have dominated from start to finish like Tom Westman and Boston Rob?
JEFF PROBST: That’s a good question. I actually think Kim is in the top grouping of winners. She was great at the social game. So many faces and great at reading a situation and equally good at stopping a disaster before it starts. The challenge with Kim is she is not as dynamic — ie, she’s normal. She did it all without raising any fuss at all and so though one of the nicest and most well rounded players, she may be less remembered than others.
What was your favorite question/statement at the final Tribal Council? Tarzan’s emotional speech? Kat’s plea to the jury? Jonas’ humor? Someone else?
Tarzan hands down. I love love. I saw Tarzan after the show — my family and I were having a drink and he walked past. I really enjoyed Tarzan. Yes, it’s kinda nutty but there’s a method to the madness and he adores his wife. Beautiful. Chelsea’s comments after his were the icing on the cake. I already have many emails from friends asking me to fix them up with Chelsea.
You joked about continuing your Reunion show conversation with Colton’s mother on your upcoming talk show, but there clearly are some issues in that family — although I remain unclear exactly what they are. Just give me your honest take on Colton. Is he a bad person, or a person that simply tried—and perhaps is STILL trying — too hard to stand out and become a “character” on television?
I don’t know what Colton’s truth is so I won’t guess. We talked for a few minutes before the show and I thought he was going to be a bit more forthcoming about feeling badly about what he said. In fairness, the live show is intimidating for a lot of people. They forget what they want to say. I think you could tell from his mom’s bravery in standing up to speak that there is more than just a “I made some bad comments” — but I do think Colton will probably be on the show again and I would guess he’ll play a similar game.
You can’t tease us for next week, but you can tease us up for next season. Whet our appetites, Probst!
Next season is going to be a return to GREAT Survivor. I really believe we will remind the audience of how fun Survivor can be. I think this season was a bit of a letdown. No fault of the Survivors, we are the producers. We just didn’t have the standout moments and characters needed for a great season. We do next season. See ya sooon!
