'Desperate Housewives' series finale features shocking 'deathbed confession'
What will happen on Sunday’s series finale of ABC’s long-running soap Desperate Housewives? No one really knows, since the minds behind the show haven’t let any details slip. But sources tell us that you’ll definitely need to have a box of Kleenex handy to get through the two-hour episode.
However, in an effort to glean what we could about what’s coming on Desperate, EW recently sat down with series supporting star Kathryn Joosten, who nabbed two Emmys over her eight seasons of playing Wisteria Lane’s lovably cranky Mrs. McCluskey.
And Joosten, well, she likes to dish — or at least she likes to tease. “What I can say is that I’m diagnosed by my physician with terminal cancer. Terminal cancer. Therefore, down the line, I…,” she says, trailing off.
Will Mrs. McCluskey die on Sunday’s outing? That seems like a good possibility, especially considering what else Joosten told us about the finale. “There’s no great shock value, but there is a tremendous amount of heart and resolution for Mrs. McCluskey and Roy.”
Then she adds: “And there’s a deathbed confession.”
Joosten wouldn’t go into more detail than that. But could viewers possibly guess what it is? “Not at all! It’s out of the blue, and fans are going to go, ‘What?!'”
Check back here on EW.com on Monday morning for more with Kathryn Joosten.
