Cher apologizes for Twitter rant against Mitt Romney
Never one to mince words about the issues, Cher started a flame war yesterday when she tweeted — and later deleted — some harsh words for the GOP’s presidential hopeful: “If ROMNEY gets elected I don’t know if I can breathe same air as Him & his Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters.”
Though many rose to support Cher’s passion, several followers railed against the Oscar winner for her opinions. It only fueled the diva, who responded to one fan, “TOO HARSH? That’s me Holding BACK! They care nothing about the POOR The OLD The SICK The HUNGRY CHILDREN & People striving 4 a Better LIFE ! –”
Some tweets remained, though. Cher posted many of the nasty messages she received, as well as her responses. When one follower suggested she might have lost half of her fans, Cher snarked, “Thank God I Got the half that thinks!” She later tweeted, “God its hysterical what crawls out of woodwork if someone speaks their mind! Obviously i don’t care what u think so knock yourselves out”
Today, it seems Cher has had a change of heart. She tweeted, “Hi Lovelies!hope U R having GREAT Day or Nite! Sorry I Let The Dogs Out,But I Should Have Remembered 1must watch what They Say These Days! … Feelings r 1 thing but no right 2 let mean spirit run free! Anger in heart made me turn back on Luv. … guess im never 2old 2 get ass whipping!mouth has been getting me in trouble all my life! Im not sorry 4feelings,but i was not kind.” She later added, “Im NOT Sorry 4 Speaking My Mind Ever! Its HOW I did it! I was a Hater!” She explained, “Went Full Rush! Was on Cher Tear!”
