If you’ve watched GCB every week since the show’s premiere in March, you know that on the whole, the Texan housewife hootenanny is rarely serious, occasionally ridiculous, and frequently hilarious. Where else on television can you see rhinestoned cowboy hats, church musical riff-offs, mud-soaked cheerleaders and death by baby back rib in one show?

But even as we gird our (pork) loins for tonight’s season finale–in which Carlene takes the glossy gang across the Mexican border–the question looms: will GCB return to testify for a second season?

EW television gurus Lynette Rice and James Hibberd don’t feel too positive about a season two pick-up, given the show’s failure so far to become a suitable replacement for the outgoing Desperate Housewives, but GCB hasn’t been completely counted out of the on-the-bubble race just yet. Its season-finale performance tonight may decide the ultimate fate of Dallas’s favorite Bitches, but nevertheless, a second season means nothing if the loyal viewers don’t tune in in the fall when the collection plate makes its rounds.

And as an added bonus, here’s one of my personal favorite moments from the show. In the event that a second season pick-up isn’t in the cards, at least we have this memory to share:
