James D’Arcy, Andrea Riseborough Anglofied auteur Madonna helms a period piece about the scandalous love affair between Wallis Simpson and the heir to the British throne. C-

About a Boy (2002, PG-13)
Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult The Weitz brothers hit all the right notes in their satisfying adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel about a spoiled bachelor and the precocious 12-year-old who teaches him to grow up. Blu-ray debut. B+

Pillow Talk (1959, Unrated)
Rock Hudson, Doris Day In a plot that makes no sense today, sunny matinee idols Hudson and Day play two squabbling singles who share a phone line and slowly fall in love. Contrived and silly, but it goes down easy, especially on this spotless new Blu-ray. B+

Tuff Turf (1985, R)
James Spader, Kim Richards A deliciously cheesy teen-rebellion flick starring Spader, a Real Housewife, and Robert Downey Jr. Guilty-pleasure pay dirt! (Available on Netflix instant viewing) B
