You read that headline right, Drag Race fans: RuPaul pulled a fast one on the queens — and the show’s rabid viewership — by shockingly announcing on tonight’s season 4 finale of the reality competition that she would not be crowning America’s Next Drag Superstar. Chad Michaels, Phi Phi O’Hara, and Sharon Needles all remain in the competition…for now.

“Ladies, I’ve made my decisions,” RuPaul said, with all the drama in the world, just as she was about to reveal her choice on the runway. “Chad Michaels, Phi Phi O’Hara, Sharon Needles, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, America’s Next Drag Superstar is…going to be announced next week on RuPaul’s Drag Race Reunited.” (Note: EW will be on the scene for the reunion, which is taping Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, and will share all the details will you in time.)

This all came after the show went through the final challenge, which saw Phi Phi, Chad, and Sharon act in a scene with RuPaul before co-starring in her video for latest single “Glamazon.” Sharon Needles’ response to Ru’s news was probably the most appropriate: “RuPaul, you crafty little witch,” she said.

Next week’s reunion was already highly anticipated, mostly because the shady details of what happened with contestant Willam are supposed to be revealed. But Ru upped the ante with this shocker. “For the first time in Drag Race history, we are breaking all the rules.” Indeed.

At the end of last night’s show, too, Ru asked viewers for help with the coming decision, which EW hears still has not been made, even though last night’s episode was taped months ago. “I want to hear from you, the viewers: Who should be America’s Next Drag Superstar?” she said, while staring dead into the camera. “Should it be Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, or Phi Phi O’Hara? Let your voice be heard.”

That said, Drag Race fans, who do you want to win? Are you going to let RuPaul know your choice? Are you sickened that Ru didn’t just make a decision already?
