'House' - 'Body & Soul': Wilson drops a bombshell. Did you see it coming?
- TV Show
House has just four episodes left in its run, and on tonight’s episode, the show’s end game became more clear than ever.
[Please don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happened in tonight’s episode. You have been warned!]
In the past few weeks, long-time House fans have been speculating about the meaning of the show’s final episode titles — “The C Word,” “Post-Mortem,” “Holding On,” and “Everybody Dies.” Bleak? Indeed. But to whom were they referring? Naturally, most guessed House himself. But we now know — barring a giant change of plans or red herring — that they were probably talking about Wilson, who tonight revealed he has stage 2 cancer. (“Thymoma,” for you brainiacs.)
So many things are swirling in my head now, readers. Am I glad House is (seemingly) safe? Or did a tiny part of me want to see him die? Am I depressed that Wilson is headed for dark times? Or am I glad that the show writers have chosen to hit House where it hurts him most? Yes to all, frankly. But above all, I’m excited.
Clearly, the writing team was given just enough time to plan for something emotionally rewarding. (At least, we hope it will be.) This is going to bring the team together, challenge House in new ways, and highlight one of the most fascinating relationships on TV. I respect the fact that not all will feel the same way. But we’re in this last journey together, regardless. Shall we buckle in?
Sound off on the twist below! Also, what are your thoughts on the departure of Dominika? (Sorry, say that again. I can’t hear you over the loud applause…) And what do you think of what’s going on with Chase and Park? (Yes, I’m confused, too.)
