Frances Bean Cobain on Courtney Love: "Twitter should ban my mother"
Even after a pair of high-profile defamation lawsuits, Courtney Love still hasn’t learned to control herself on Twitter. On Tuesday, the Hole rocker took to her private account — not to be confused with @Courtney, Love’s official Twitter profile — and proceeded to write a series of breathless 140 character messages claiming that Dave Grohl had seduced her 19-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
Cobain, in turn, has released a harsh statement through her publicist:
Strong words — but ones that seem totally justified. Love and Nirvana’s former drummer have had a beef since Kurt Cobain’s suicide in 1994. She’s taken numerous swipes at the Foo Fighters front man over the years, but her recent Twitter tirade is particularly over the top. In it, she calls Grohl a “gross old man macking on kurt cobains [sic] only child” and says she always thought the musician “had that romney rape thing about him.” (Umm… what?)
Grohl dismissed Love’s words in a statement to E! Online. “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”
Maybe Love will take her daughter’s statement as a wake-up call, or at least as an indication that she shouldn’t consider her “private” account truly private. But then again, Love isn’t known for her unimpeachable decision-making skills.
