'The Killing' season premiere: A brief VIDEO review
The Killing returned on Sunday night with a premiere that reminded you why (a) you really like this show or (b) you’re really over this show or (c) you suspect you aren’t going to commit to this season but you can’t help but check it out for a while anyway. Consider these choices the TV-decision version of the drip-drip-drip of the Seattle rain, through which Mireille Enos’ Sarah Linden slithers like a red-eyed moray eel.
As someone who has a high tolerance for the low-wattage action level of police procedurals — count me among the fans of novelists ranging from Ed McBain to Jo Nesbo — and as an out-and-out admirer of Joel Kinnaman’s performance as the mordantly droll, in-recovery dissembler Holder, I watched the premiere and wanted to see more.
On the basis of this premiere, my weekly video review segment is devoted to The Killing. (Note: One brief SPOILER-ISH detail is mentioned here.)
