The Perfect Family

  • Movie

The most perfect thing about the Cleary family is how completely imperfect they are. In the trailer for The Perfect Family, Kathleen Turner plays Eileen Cleary, an ultra-conservative Christian mother battling another woman from her church to win theCatholic Woman of the Year award. Easy enough, right?

Not quite. On paper, Eileen’s family plays the ideal support system for this anal-retentive matriarch. But take that paper and consider it shredded because on the brink of the announcement, her daughter (Emily Deschanel) reveals that she’s pregnant and moving in with her girlfriend, while her son (Jason Ritter) announces he’s leaving his wife to date a manicurist. Naturally, as with any dysfunctional family, comical and heart-warming chaos ensues. Watch the trailer below:

It’s always refreshing to see a defective family battle through their domestic problems, no matter how mundane, but what do you think, readers? Though Kathleen Turner is enough for a trip to the cinema, does the trailer sell you as well?
