• After rising to the top of a tight pack, as we reported yesterday, Chloë Grace Moretz has found herself in the spotlight and soon to be covered in pig blood since she was offered the title role in Kimberly Peirce‘s Carrie reboot, based on Stephen King‘s 1974 and the subsequent Oscar-nominated film directed by Brian de Palma. Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore are reportedly being considered to play Moretz’s mother. [Variety]

Forest Whitaker has been replaced byJeffrey Wright in the thriller A Single Shot. Juliette Lewis and Jennifer Jason Leigh were once each slated to play the female lead in the casting merry-go-round, though they are no longer with the project. Jason Isaacs also just signed on, joining Sam Rockwell and William H. Macy. [Variety]

Ray Liotta is wrapping up negotiations for Better Living Through Chemistry, in which he will play a straight-arrow pharmacist whose life is upended when he begins an affair with a woman, played by Olivia Wilde. The film also stars Michelle Monaghan, Sam Rockwell, and Judi Dench. [Deadline]

• A septet of actors have signed on for Teddy Bears. David Krumholtz, Melanie Lynskey, Jason Ritter, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Knighton, Ahna O’Reilly, and Ned Beatty have all inked deals for the desert road trip dark comedy penned by Ned’s son Thomas Beatty. [Variety]
