Deadmau5 calls Madonna a 'f---ing idiot' for pandering to dance crowd with drug references [Updated]

Tell us how you really feel about Madonna, AngerMau5!

During her recent appearance at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, the 53-year-old singer went on a drug-related riff while introducing the artist Avicii.

"In my world, the words 'music' and 'dance' are not separated, okay?" Madge told the crowd.

And to prove that she's not a narc, the pop star then asked the kids, "How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?"

Molly, for those not as hip as Madonna, is slang for the "pure" form of MDMA (Ecstasy), a drug some associate with dance/electronic/rave/things-that-aren't-Dave-Grohl music culture. Madonna's latest album, of course, is titled MDNA.

None of this pleases Deadmau5. The EDM star took to Facebook to express his displeasure with Her Madjesty:

very classy there madonna. "HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???" such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra. quite the f'n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! f—ing cant smack my head hard enough right now.

Very classy yourself, Deadmau5. And excellent understanding(?) of the word "philanthropist."

But as his harsher second post demonstrates, he was far from done with the matter:

seriously, i giveth not a f—ing single F— for slating on madonna for reaching an entirely NEW level of idiocy … i can appriciate her meteoric career, and all good deeds done, but WHAT THE F— WAS THAT? That's your big contribution to EDM [electronic dance music]? Thats your big message to ultra attendies? hipsterspeak for looking for drugs? f— off you f—ing IDIOT. f—.

And while his two posts are certainly showered with swears, Deadmau5 further continued his barrage on Madge with a Tumblr screed so expletive-laden, you might think it came from a Guy Ritchie movie.

Using Madonna's Molly monologue as a jumping off point, the post mostly addresses drug usage and personal responsibility. Here's an excerpt:

"we have, and will always have personal choice. Thats how our lives are shaped… through the good or bad choices we make. we learn every day from them… but theyre ours to make, and its our responsibility to make the right ones for each of ourselves.Not to be pandered down to us in metaphorical pill form from BIG voices as a marketing scheme to "fit in" with todays young and "hip" crowd to sell a f—in CD.

So, if you can be pandered with MDMA refrences, then at least pander your own ass with a good sense of responsibility which will enable you to make the personal choices that are right for YOU."

UPDATE:  The two parties seem to have settled their differences over (what else?) Twitter. It went something like this:

Deadmau5: "You're a role model to 100's of millions. You have a powerful voice, EDM could use your positive influence, not 'molly' talk."

Madonna [via a Twitpic of her wearing Mickey Mouse ears]: "lovemau5. From one mouse to another. I don't support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called 'Have You Seen Molly' written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my last album …" 

Deadmau5:  i may have slated you a little rough, but i found it offensive to see the illicit drug crap lit up at an EDM event.

Deadmau5: fair enough, i was just voicing my concerns as i usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally.

Madonna: Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up "privately." ;) See you on the road.

Deadmau5: sure. regardless, just be a little more aware of what you *should* represent at EDM events, and ill watch my mouth.
