Get a behind-the-scenes look at EW's Music Lounge at SXSW

The heat and the volume were both turned up in EW’s Music Lounge at the South by Southwest festival in Austin. Baltimore rockers J Roddy Walston & the Business and San Diego’s Delta Spirit each brought big riffs and high energy to Rattle Inn’s sun-soaked roof deck as revelers toasted with custom-made cocktails called Bullseyes and Must Lists. (Wonder where they got that idea?) ”Our philosophy is always to try to bowl you over,” said Delta Spirit frontman Matthew Vasquez, who grew up outside of Austin. ”When that happens, it’s super-fun.” He lived up to his promise, celebrating the band?s just-released self-titled third album — and a gorgeous Texas sunset — with the beautifully incendiary ”Time Bomb.” Meanwhile, J Roddy warmed up the raucous crowd (at least those not crowded into the on-site photo booth) with chugging roadhouse jams like ”Used to Did.”
