When Whitney is the highest-rated show in your comedy block…

NBC rolled out a new romantic comedy Wednesday night, Bent, starring Amanda Peet and David Walton. Despite garnering some fairly good reviews (the word “charming” was often used), Bent ended up ranking fourth in the 9 p.m. hour, even behind a Modern Family repeat. Two episodes of Bent (2.8 and 2.4 million; 1.0 and 0.9 in the demo) fell from the network’s 8 p.m.-hour shows, Whitney (4.2 million, 1.6) and Are You There, Chelsea (3.5 million, 1.4), both of which posted gains this week since ABC’s comedy block was in repeats.

Fox’s American Idol (16.6 million, 4.9) Top 10 performance show easily won the night, though was down 9 percent this week.

CBS had Survivor (10.2 million, 2.7), down 10 percent this week, Criminal Minds (11.9 million, 3.2), up 14 percent, and CSI (11.2 million, 2.5), down 11 percent.
