A new viral video for this summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man contains an interesting revelation for Spidey fans. It seems that in Amazing‘s rebooted world, the beloved newspaper The Daily Bugle is actually a 24-hour news network, complete with a smug news anchor named Eva Predelson. (Although it’s also possible that The Daily Bugle is just a newsmagazine. Maybe in the world of Amazing, Eva Predelson is like Brian Williams, and The Daily Bugle is her Rock Center. Which is a real show, by the way.) Below, Predelson introduces an interview with Captain George Stacy (Denis Leary), who is a bit upset about this Spider-Man fellow. The video teases a website called allows you to upload pictures of yourself in a Spider-Man outfit, and also teases a phone number (877-651-8503). But don’t call the number, because I already did, and all I heard was someone doing their best impression of The Chief from Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? demanding I visit the site. Watch the video after the jump.

Intrigued that the makers of Amazing have updated the journalistic world of Spider-Man from the 1960s to the early 1990s? Surprised they didn’t just turn The Daily Bugle into a blog that aggregates other blogs, with Arianna Huffington starring as Jane Jonah Jameson?
