Keeping in accordance with the terms of the Internet: Ryan Gosling!

More specifically, a fake poster of Ryan Gosling appearing in a fake Walt Disney biopic (directed by Ron Howard, no less) created by French graphic artist Pascal Witaszek has caught the attention of plenty of folks. Partly because of how incredibly legit the beautiful imposter looks, but mostly because this would actually be sort of a great idea.

Think about it: Between Gosling’s well-known affinity for Disney culture and mankind’s affinity for all things Gosling, casting the Oscar nominee seems like a no-brainer if Hollywood were to make a film based on the life of the famed animator and entrepreneur. (Not to mention, the Academy loves a biopic and let’s face it, they owe the guy after this year.)

Of course, there’s a downside to wishing upon this star. If the movie does get made, with Gosling stepping into Disney’s iconic shoes, there’s no way the “real” poster could stack up to Witaszek’s or the buzz it preemptively created. (The Mickey cloud! The return of Gosling’s Lars and the Real Girl ‘stache! That inspired “Of a Mouse and a Man” tagline!) Even more pressing, if J. Edgar reminded us of anything, it’s that sometimes biopics aren’t necessarily always a good idea.

Okay, PopWatchers, your turn to sound off: Should we let the cries for Walt begin? Were you duped by the poster, too? Who would you cast in a Walt Disney biopic? Share in the comments section below.
