After Jessica Sanchez earned a standing ovation for her powerhouse rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” Wednesday night, she got a special Twitter shout out from season 3 alum and Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson! “Yes Jessica! That’s it!!” Jennifer tweeted. Jessica told Access Hollywood, “Me and my uncle were in the same room when we saw the tweet and we were, like, crying and freaking out.” Hudson recently sang the song at the Grammys as a tribute to the late singer.
Idol‘s Big Kahuna
Deandre Brackensick not only knows his way around a pop tune, but employs that lovely falsetto singing traditional Hawaiian music — hence his nickname “Kamele — and has a passion for hula! Deandre has been hula dancing since the age of 10, and has competed (and won!) in many competitions, according to SF Gate.
Paul McDonald to sink his teeth into Twilight?
Season 9 Idol alum, Paul McDonald tells MTV News that he hopes to pen a song for the last installment of the Twilight series Breaking Dawn — Part 2. “Paul has been speaking with them about potentially attempting to write something,” reveals McDonld’s wife, Nikki Reed. In the meantime, the newlyweds just released a music video of a duet they recorded together called “Now That I Found You”.

Idol alum Jennifer Hudson surprised a Chicago crowd when she jumped on stage at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire last Saturday to join jazz singer/songwriter Rachelle Ferrell for an impromptu duet.
