'Desperate Housewives' actor to join CBS pilot -- EXCLUSIVE
Most of the actors on Desperate Housewives will miss pilot season because of the final season shooting schedule, but at least one key star was free to book a gig for fall.
EW has learned that Kyle MacLachlan — aka Orson Hodge — will play the patriarch of a law firm in Baby Big Shot, a drama in development at CBS. The drama focuses on a working class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a Manhattan law firm. The series is from writer Dana Calvo and the executive producers are Kevin Falls, Jamie Tarses, and Julia Franz.
British actress Janet Montgomery (Black Swan) has already been cast as the lead. The drama will take place in New York.
MacLachlan was free to pursue new gigs because he hasn’t been a regular on DH since last season. He only appeared in three episodes this year and his arc ended Sunday.
We already know of another DH actor who will be immediately free to find another job. It was just revealed today that Mike Delfino, aka Jamie Denton, will be killed off just about two months shy of the show’s series finale.
