We already know they have beauty and grace, but let’s hope this year’s Miss USA contestants also tout a killer sense of humor and a wicked sense of style: Bravo’s Andy Cohen and E!’s Giuliana Rancic will return as co-hosts of this year’s Miss USA competition. “Not only will we have the hottest show on the strip the night of June 3, but we are excited to welcome back Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic as hosts,” said Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization. “Andy and Giuliana’s charisma and energy are a great fit for us, and it was obvious they had a lot of fun together at Miss USA last year. We are happy to have them back.”
Airing live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on June 3, the annual event (now in its 61st year) is spearheaded jointly by Donald Trump and NBC Universal.
“The city of Las Vegas, one of the most exciting cities in the world, will once again set the stage for the Miss USA competition, giving 51 of the most beautiful women in the country a chance to win the coveted title of Miss USA,” said Trump in a statement. “Planet Hollywood has consistently rolled out the red carpet for our contestants and it is natural for us to host the pageant there.”
With Cohen as the host and executive producer of Bravo’s wildly successful Watch What Happens Live, I can only hope that the delightfully wacky personality might be given the opportunity to try his hand at the interview round of the competition, or at least dole out a “Mazel of the Night” for a stellar talent, perhaps? As for Rancic and her Fashion Police expertise, maybe she can provide quick commentary on the fashion do’s and don’ts of walking that catwalk in a skimpy two-piece.
