'Parks and Recreation': Retta dishes on Ginuwine's guest star hopes
We were as shocked as Tom was when a recent episode of Parks and Recreation revealed that badassery runs deeper in Donna’s lineage than we ever thought possible, and that got us thinking. Will her cousin Ginuwine ever stop by Pawnee? Well, it turns out, it could happen!
“I heard that he wants to come on. So if they can work it out, we’ll do it!” Retta told EW last night during PaleyFest’s salute to Parks and Recreation. “He actually sent his gold records and those pictures of himself.”
And while the ’90s rap icon will not appear this season, executive producer Dan Goor said it’s not “unrealistic to think that he could be in our world.” “We have certainly established that he is Donna’s cousin and could certainly appear,” he said.
Meanwhile, Retta has her eyes on another guest star: former Undercovers star Boris Kodjoe. “[I told them] I don’t want him to be my brother. I want him to have to kiss me on camera. Figure it out, ladies!”
A little more immediately, Retta said the season’s finale, which will bring the election to a conclusion, will come with a big price for Donna. “She does make a sacrifice but I feel like she’s got ulterior motives. I don’t know what it is. They haven’t told me, but I was like, ‘That’s just too crazy.’ It’s big, it’s a big deal,” she said. “So I think we’re going to come back for the new season and realize why she did what she did.”
Parks and Recreation has yet to be officially picked up this season, but executive producer Mike Schur told the crowd in attendance that they were “cautiously optimistic.”
