Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to replace Dominic Cooper as the lead in the Albert Hughes film Motor City. Gyllenhaal would play an ex-con seeking out the people who framed him. Gary Oldman and Amber Heard round out the cast. [Variety]

Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick, and Project X‘s Miles Teller have signed onto an ensemble comedy with the working title Get a Job, CBS Films announced today. As the title suggests, the film will follow an interconnected cast — which also includes Alison Brie (Community), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder), Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live), and Nick Braun (Prom) — as they struggle to find employment. Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger) will direct.

Michael Peña is set to play famed labor organizer Cesar E. Chavez in the indie biopic Chavez, with actor Diego Luna directing. America Ferrera will play Chavez’ wife, and Rosario Dawson his aide. [Variety]
